I might have to pack in this blogging malarkey for a bit.
Not only is my life becoming increasingly trivial, which doesn’t make for exciting subject matter, my writing skills are going down the pan at an alarming rate.
I might have to revert to poetry.
Hooray! For the first time in a long while I feel like I have achieved something with my life – the first chapter of my long awaited novel is finally complete, and to think I only started it last March!
I´m under no illusions about the thing being any good, and don´t expect it ever to be released to the wider world, but the main thing is I enjoy writing it and that´s a good enough reason to do it for me.
I came down to Sevilla from Madrid on Monday and I´m glad that I did, it´s been just what I needed -I´m staying in a nice hostel with comfy beds so I get a good night (and mornings) sleep, the weather is great so I can just wander around seeing what I missed last year or sit in the park writing and I´ve met some decent people at the hostel to spend the nights drinking and chatting with.
Alas, end it must, it´s back to Madrid tomorrow then onto Barcelona next Monday before heading home next Thursday – then again there is nothing making me catch the flight…..
