Thoughts on This and That

Pathetically Apathetic

So, we have a new Prime Minister - will it make any difference whatsoever? I highly doubt it. Rumours abound that Brown may look to cash in on the initial upsurge in support for Labour by calling an early election, would it make any difference if they lost power to the Conservatives? I highly doubt it.

Economically the politics of the so-called right have won and socially it seems the same can be said of the left, even though this particular government does have some very authoritarian urges, in these circumstances - and given the fact that one of only Labour or the Conservatives are realistically going to win an election I’m finding it hard to get bothered in any way, shape or form.

Reality hits home

My feelings after City’s relegation have been a bit ambivalent, I wasn’t that concerned by it - maybe because it has been followed by a lot of good news - Stuart McCall getting the managers job, the £138 season tickets being offered, a new joint Chairman wiping out the debts and we even look like we might have a nice kit for the first time in a few years - but when the fixtures were released today the disappointment hit me.

After seeing who we were up against first (Macclesfield at Home) there wasn’t a single game I looked for or was interested in locating, there are no real derbies to get excited about, no real opponents of interest I want to visit and nothing at all sticks out as something to look forward to.

Being back in League One for the last three years has been grim enough, I just hope we don’t stick around at this level for too long.

A bit of progress….

Funny how I haven’t been updating this thing much despite not doing too much with my time, especially when in days gone by there would be loads I wanted to write about but I never got the chance - thats the way it goes I suppose. I’ve got a whole travelblog planned out on paper, hopefully one day it will see light of day on the world wide web.

The jobsearch has been a bit fruitless and soul-destroying up until now, but today seemed to bring a bit of progress and I have two interviews for actual jobs lined up on Friday, by actual jobs I mean not agency interviews which, half of the time, seem to serve no real purpose.

Hopefully something will come up soon, then my goal of having no debts, and reaching South America before I hit 30 might not be as unrealistic as it feels at the moment!
